About the Author

     Award-winning author, JoAnn Deveny grew up on the Iron Range of northern Minnesota and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. 

     JoAnn has appeared on Fox National News, WCCO morning show, KTIS 98.5, Rudy Maxa's World, Tom Bernard Morning Show and other media events commenting on her 2 award-winning books, When Bluebirds Fly and 99 Ways to Make a Flight Attendant Fly--Off the Handle!  She has also been featured in articles in Parenting Magazine, US News & World Report and additional publications.

     JoAnn's third book I Am Widow, Hear Me Roar: Reflections of a Surviving Spouse was released in 2018 and was a finalist in the 2019 Midwest Book Awards. She now resides in Mound, MN, is retired from her 42-year flying career, and is an accompanist for local churches.
